TV Tuesday: The Handmaid's Tale

One of the best TV shows we've seen in the past six months (or maybe in a day ) is The Maid Tale, based on the modern classic novel by Margaret Atwood (my review is at the link). My husband and I read the novel, and the adaptation to the movie is great. It is an honest reproduction of world history - created by Atwood, which has only expanded - deepened.

Elizabeth Moss plays John Osborne, now Offred (Off-Fred, his commanding officer) in this cold, anti-utopian world known as Gilead. Commander Fred Waterford, played by Joseph Fiennes, runs the house in which Offred lives as slaves. His wife, Serena Waterford (played by Yvonne Strakhovsky) desperately wants a child, but like most women in the world, he is sterile and must rely on his slave. During a strange and harrowing ceremony, Mrs. Waterford Offred fasted once a month while her husband was "sowing his seed" (as the novel goes). The rest of the upper family is occupied by maid Martha (played by Amanda Brueghel), whose real name is Rita in the underworld, and Nick (played by Max Minghella), who serves as manager, bodyguard, and brigadier. Reckless master. In flashbacks we note that Jun - the other maids who were captured during the revolution - spent time in the training center learning to become maids. It was his best friend Moira (played by Samira Wiley) in mid-June, where retrospectives showed how Jon Moira enjoys friendship in the underworld. Their education facility is supervised by Aunt Lydia, played by Anne Dowd, with a disturbing mixture of maternal kindness and "appalling cruelty to her daughters." After being brought in, Jon is separated from her husband, Luke (played by OT Fagbenle), and their daughter, Hannah Jon, in a desperate search for Luke և Hannah. This tightly controlled world is ruled by religion, using scriptures to justify all aspects of its deviant society, even monthly rape. The other maids must strictly follow the rules of society and their families, or else they will be severely punished, but in their minds and hearts they still longed for their true old family life.

No description of this show seems to be enough to fully flesh out its powerful and powerful story. Although the film adaptation often does not match the original material, this gorgeous scene takes Atwood's clever, imaginative and thoughtful narration not only to bring it to life, but to add richness and richness to the story to new heights. We're now watching Season 4 (scheduled for 5), the unpredictable "fantastically reversed plot" as the desire and power to respond increased in June. First of all, the acting in this program is very cool. Moss is certainly the undisputed star of the show, displaying an incredible array of emotions - from sadness to love to anger - everything, but every actor here displays an astonishing complexity in their roles. Serena was a woman with a modern career, and now she must be a modest woman. HE: Fred actually helped create this community he's now trapped in. Like June, Rita must be a quiet and passive servant, like Martha at home, without her own needs or desires. Even Fred, as a powerful owner, has complex feelings for his wife - a slave. All in all, the amazing writing talent combines exciting scenery and cinematography to provide a powerful and captivating viewing experience that won't disappoint. This is one of the best shows we've ever seen, we're totally obsessed.

Maids' tongues are the original Hulu, so it's available right there. Series seasons can also be purchased from Amazon . At the moment there are four seasons, and a fifth is planned. Our son's student Hulu account expires this month, so we're in a hurry to finish Season 4, but we'll have to register ourselves to see when it comes out at the latest.

The trailer for the first season shows scenes from the series որոշ some prehistoric times of Gilad's birth.
